It is with great regret that, given the current and fast-developing situation with Covid-19, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Give a Kidney Conference on 21 March.
Everyone’s welfare was at the forefront of our minds in making this decision. We were aware that a number of people attending the conference are likely to fall into some of the higher risk groups, and that many people are actively choosing to reduce travel and minimise contact with other people as a precaution. We were also aware that the venue, Guy’s Hospital, is caring for people with serious health conditions and, as a health-concerned charity, we did not feel it would be responsible for us to be inviting people into such an environment, at this time, without it being necessary to do so, even if the risks of cross-infection are low.
We very sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or loss that this decision may have caused people planning to attend. We are very disappointed, but feel it is the right and appropriate thing to do in these extraordinary circumstances.
We will monitor the situation and will, of course, post back here when we have rescheduled and we hope you will be able to join us then.
Thank you for your support and we hope to see you very soon.
